Obituary of Natalie F. Jones

Natalie F. Jones GENEVA - Natalie (Fake) Jones, 88, of Kashong Point departed her earthly life on Friday (November 1, 2013). Nan was born and raised in Gorham, NY, the daughter of Lee Fake, a shopkeeper, and Doris Fake, a schoolteacher. She graduated at age 16 from Gorham High School in 1941 and was too young to attend nursing school. She worked as a nurse's aide in Canandaigua for a year before attending Park Avenue School of Nursing in Rochester, with additional training in New York City. After graduation, she worked as a nurse in Rochester and Geneva. In 1947 she married Charles L. Jones, her husband of 52 years, and moved to Kashong Point, where resided for remaining 66 years of her life. Her final nursing position was at the Hubbs Infirmary at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she worked for almost twenty years. Nan was among the first women to be ordained as an Elder at the Bellona Memorial Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her four children Nancy (Steve) VanGorden of Waterloo, Mark (Kim) Jones of Geneva, Jeff (Rainey) Jones of Rushville and Lawrence (Vera) Jones of Rochester. Nan was proud of her sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The family is especially thankful for the dedicated service of several home health aides who helped care for our mother in her final years. Natalie was predeceased by her husband Charles.
