GENEVA- Suzanne Gayle (Constant) Otterbacher, born September 29, 1943, Oklahoma City OK; died July 31, 2024, Rochester NY.
Suzanne Gayle was born to Dixie Anne Donnelly and James W. Modrall. Dixie married Clark Constant in 1952, and Suzanne carried his name until her marriage. Suzanne met Alan G. Otterbacher while they were students at the University of Illinois; they married in November, 1963.
Suzanne received her M.Div. from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1986. She served as an ordained pastor in Illinois, and continued to serve when called upon even after she and Alan retired to Geneva, NY. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Geneva.
Suzanne enjoyed exploring new things. She and Alan were able to travel all over the US and made several trips abroad. She was a talented writer as well as a voracious reader. She liked to be engaged politically and socially, and she loved a party.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Alan Glenn Otterbacher; her daughter, Ardys Otterbacher; her son, Glenn Otterbacher (Debbie Layman); and her grandchildren, Aspen and Christopher Layman.
A memorial service for Suzanne will be held at The Presbyterian Church at a date to be announced.
