Obituary of John F. Harrison

John F. Harrison Nov. 21, 1947 - March 13, 2014 GENEVA- John F. Harrison, 66, passed away on Thurs. (March 13, 2014), at his home, as a result of Pancreatic Cancer. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Mon. (March 17), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be directed to the Geneva Little League. John was born on Nov. 21, 1947, in Geneva and was a son of the late Susan Shoup Fairchild and Volney 'Barney' Harrison. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and was a lifelong resident of Geneva. John enlisted in the Marine Corp. after high school, serving four years in artillery, which included a tour of duty at Khe Sahn, Republic of Vietnam, and was a Sgt. E-5 when he was honorably discharged. He worked at the family restaurant 'Fairchilds' as a teenager and retired from the Seneca Army Depot after 28 years. John loved to watch the kids and grandkids play baseball, football, gymnastics and cheerleading. He was an avid sportsman and hunter and enjoyed target shooting at Buck Horn Sportsman's Club and anywhere else he could think of. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, JoAnn (Mariangelo) Harrison of Geneva; daughters, Jackie (Thomas) Tyghem of Boca Raton, Fla. and Becky Spann of Geneva; brothers, Bruce (Sheila) Harrison of Seattle, WA, Dale Harrison of Naples, NY and Jim Harrison of Fla.; 6 grandchildren, Alec, Alexis, Amari, Andre, Roman and Eva;Diana Fairchild (sister);special cousins,Smoke and Linda Shoup, Lenny and Grace Kamarousky and their families;several nieces and nephews.
