I had the pleasure of meeting Sandy and Betsy on a Caribbean recently, and Sandy was such a wonderful conversationalist at our dinner table. He surely was one of the best, and meeting him and Betsy was one of the finer times of my life. My thoughts and prayers go out to Betsy and the Pronti family at this time of loss. God takes the best, and I know we have to be thankful that Sandy is in a better place.

As I read the obituary and comments posted about Sandy, I realized that I shared only a very small part of his life. How wonderful were the many comments. What a great tribute to this man's life. Sandy was such a special friend. A piece of my heart will always be there for this gentle soul, always kind, considerate, and there when you needed him. We spent our younger years growing up in Penn Yan through grade school at St. Michael's, and a short, too short time at high school at the Academy. Adulthood, as it often does, separated us for too many years, and when we reunited several years ago, it was as though we had never been apart. This is a friendship I will always remember and cherish deeply. Until a later time, my friend, know that you are loved and will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Betsy, and your family.

Sandy was such a dear friend to us, and to all of those who had the great privilege of knowing him. I am a Canadian and, last year, I had to be in Canada for 7 weeks for medical reasons. Sandy and Betsy drove for four hours (each way) and stayed overnight in a hotel...just to see my wife and me.
Sandy was The Ambassador of our Soaring Eagles Mini Golf Tour. He was always there..Mon., Wed., and Fri. to welcome everyone to another day on the links. He, also, did so much behind the scenes to help the group grow and flourish.
We send our deepest sympathy to Betsy and the entire Pronti family. Sandi will be deeply missed by all, who knew and loved him, and he lives on through the wonderful memories he gave us.

Betsy and family,
It was with truly great sadness that we noted Sandy's passing. I got to know him through the gentlemen that gathered at the S. Main St Cafe, and we would talk at length some mornings when my Father was battling cancer, and Sandy would share his own challenges. He often spoke of you Betsy- and how much love and support he had from you and the "boys" and how he so loved you and the grandchildren. Would that we could keep those we care about from the battles we all may face through time. Please be kind and gentle with yourselves, and know that others share in your loss, and that he could not have loved you all more- it would not have been humanly possible.

I am devastated by the news of Sandy's passing. Even though I moved away, Sandy and I kept tabs on each other with numerous phone calls during which we discussed golf, major sports, and family. He always kept me up on local high school sports. He was such a gregarious person who always made those around him feel much better about themselves. I will miss stopping in as I passed through Horseheads (especially those fantastic breakfasts he enjoyed cooking). The world lost a great human being, but heaven has become a better place. My family is visiting me in Florida at this time and it grieves me even more that I can not be there.

'Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to a new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints in our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.' Peace to you now, my friend, and to your family and friends. I will miss you so. But oh, the memories!
