Obituary of Francesco D Giardino

Francesco "Frank" D. Giardino GENEVA-Francesco "Frank" D. Giardino, 90, passed away peacefully Monday, June 1, 2015, at Geneva General Hospital with his family at his side. Family and friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday (June 5) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Geneva. Frank was born on October 5, 1924 in East Rochester, NY and was the son of the late Mary Morabito and Dominic Giardino. He was very active at St. Francis De Sales Church, De Sales High School, Freeman Business School, church centennial, sacristan at St. Francis Church for many years and Eucharistic Minister at the church, hospital and nursing home. Frank was a 4th degree member of The Knights of Columbus and past Grand Knight. A veteran of U S Army serving in WW II as Aerial Gunner, with an air medal Three Oak Leaf Clusters and the distinguished Flying Cross also a member of American Legion Post 396 and the Sons of Italy. Frank is survived by his wife Anna Marie Giardino of Geneva; son Robert (Elizabeth) Giardino of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter Marie Giardino of Rochester, NY; brothers Dominic (Donna) Giardino of Geneva, Anthony (Patricia) Giardino of Seneca Falls, NY and Fr. Joseph Giardino of Hartford, CT; sister Marie (Art) Combs of Geneva; grandchildren Cristie (Ben) Hoffman, Robbie Giardino of Colorado, Rebecca DeRaddo, Johnny DeRaddo, Danielle (Wendell) McKinney, David (Colleen) DeRaddo, Anna Laurenza, Angelina Laurenza; great grandchildren Tyson Hoffman, Lucas and Jason McKinney; step children Linda (Joe) Laurenza, Stephen (Trissa) DeRaddo, and John (Liz) DeRaddo; several nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his past wives Livia Guadagno and Mary Rose Gaglianese; brother Patrick Giardino and sister Catherine Aponte.
