Obituary of Frederick J. Pollino

Frederick J. Pollino GENEVA - Frederick J. Pollino, 74, passed away Thurs. (Dec. 23, 2010) at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wed. (Dec. 29) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, LLC, 28 Genesee St., Geneva. A memorial service will be held following visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be directed to the Seneca Ways Council of the BSA 3685 Pre-Emption Rd. Geneva, NY 14456. Frederick was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Geneva, and was a son of the late Anthony and Anna (Snowney) Pollino. He was a 1953 graduate of De Sales High School. Frederick worked as a machinist at the American Can in Geneva, the Machine Shop in Seneca Falls, the Seneca army Depot, and retired from the Toby Hannah Army Depot in 1995. Frederick was a District Community member of Troop 4 of the Boy Scouts of America. He served as a staff member of Camp Babcock Hovey and enjoyed hunting, golfing and stamp collecting. Frederick was a former member of the Geneva Country Club and the Sons of Italy Lodge 2397. He is survived by his son, Anthony Pollino of Seneca Falls; daughter, Tammy (Chris) Boyce of Stanley; brother, Dominic (Geraldine) Pollino of Batavia; grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher and Nicholas Wickham; nieces, Julie (Barry) Tanner, Maria (Jason) Trowbridge and Sharon (Mark) Years; great-nieces and nephews, Mark and Shelby Years, Mia Trowbridge, Karena Loudin and Joel Pierce; special friend and caregiver, Brian Millis; brother-in-law Patrick Matriscino of Victor and several cousins, especially Catherine and Owen Loudin. Frederick was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann (Hayes) Pollino and sister, Shirley Matriscino.
