Obituary of Marie G. D'Alesandro

Marie G. D'Alesandro D'Alesandro, Marie G. (D'Amico) passed away peacefully on October 4, 2011 at age 86, in Pittsford, NY. Friends may call Thursday, October 6, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, LLC, 28 Genesee Street, Geneva. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 7 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis of De Sales Church, Geneva. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Marie was born in Geneva, the daughter of the late Nazarene and Mary D"Amico. She is predeceased by her husband Erman "Diesel" D'Alesandro. Marie graduated from De Sales High School and the New York City School of Photography. She owned and operated her own photography studio at 35 Avenue F in Geneva, NY. Marie also worked at the Sampson Naval Base followed by 22 years at the Geneva Federal Savings Bank. Marie was an avid league bowler and an enthusiastic patron of the racinos. She was a member of the Northside Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, Town of Geneva Planning Board, The Board of Elections, the Sons of Italy, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Marie was a happy active woman. Marie is survived by her 5 children; Erman (Roberta) D'Alesandro of Waynesville, NC, Michele D'Alesandro of Falls Church, VA, Robert (Maxine) D'Alesandro of Mendon, NY, Melanie D'Alesandro (Tim Dale) of Lockport, NY, and Gina (Patrick) Capozzi of Rochester, NY, 11 grandchildren; Erman D. D'Alesandro, Andrea Miller, Domonique Hilaire, Janelle Duvall, Mary Elizabeth D'Alesandro, Angela Dana, Nicholas D'Alesandro, Nathaniel D'Alesandro, Brittany Capozzi, Lindsey Capozzi, Jacklyn Capozzi, 3 great grandchildren, sister; Genevieve (Howard) Semler of Carpentaria, CA, brother; Francis J. "Babe" D'Amico of Geneva and several nieces and nephews. Marie will be sadly missed. Contributions may be made to America Cancer Society or the National Kidney foundation in Marie's memory.
