Obituary of Verna E. Williams

Verna E. (Atkinson) Williams Verna E. (Atkinson) Williams, a devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully Friday, November 25, 2011. Friends may call Tuesday, November 29, 2011, 10 AM -11 AM at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, LLC, 28 Genesee Street, Geneva, NY a funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment at Sand hill Cemetery, Geneva. Verna Elizabeth (Atkinson) Williams was born in Geneva, NY in 1931. She met her husband, Ralph L. Williams, while he was stationed here at Sampson Air Force Base. They were married on August 25, 1952.They were married for 58 yrs. until his death on Nov. 12, 2010. They made their home in Ohio and had three children Allan, Diane and Steve. Verna held several different jobs over the years, but the one that she enjoyed the most was babysitting children. She loved children and treated them all as her own. Verna had a "child-like" spirit and a good sense of humor. She really loved all people and could make a friend out of a stranger in a couple of minutes. After living in Ohio for many years, she moved back to her home state of NY. But, because of her love for her family & friends in Ohio, she was fondly nicknamed "Miss Ohio", forever more. Verna is survived by her children; Allan (Micka) Williams of Columbus, Ohio, Diane Robenott of Columbus, Ohio and Steve Williams of Canandaigua, NY, grandchildren; Brandon Williams and Crystal Williams, sister; Alice Schaff of Geneva, NY, brothers; Roy Atkinson of Waterloo, NY and David Atkinson of Colorado, a niece Carol (Bill) Morlang and several other nieces and nephews. Verna is predeceased by her husband Ralph L. Williams, mother; Bonnie Lierley Atkinson, father; Lester Atkinson, sisters; Wilma Ingandello, Arlene Payne and Pauline Figuroa, and brother; Donald Atkinson.
