Obituary of Thomas F. Lagana

Thomas F. Lagana, Sr. WATERLOO- Thomas F. Lagana, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on Mon. (Dec. 17, 2012), at Geneva General Hospital. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sat. (Dec. 22), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Lung Association, www.lungusa.org. Tom was born on May 16, 1937 in Geneva, NY and was a son of the late Frank and Rose (Talomie) Lagana. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1955. Tom served his country in the United States Navy- 3rd Class from 1955 to 1959. After the service, he attended the Culver Hairdressing School, graduating in 1960. Tom worked at Sylvania for 22 years from 1964 to 1986, Toshiba for 13 years from 1986 to 1999 and worked part time at the Auto Auction from 1999 to present. He married Marjorie Adam in 1999. Tom enjoyed fishing, golfing and was an avid scratch-off ticket player. He also bowled much of his life, and was able to win the Annual Geneva City Bowling Singles Championship in 1964, rolling a 645 pin total. He was a member of the SMS in Seneca Falls. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Gene (Adam) Lagana of Waterloo; sons, Thomas F. Lagana, Jr. and Frank Lagana, both of Waterloo; daughters, Brenda Miles of Waterloo, April Miles of AL and Spring (Matt) Evans of Waterloo; brother, Robert (Glenna) Lagana of San Antonio, TX; brother-in-law, James (Terry) Longobardi of Aldin, NY; sister-in-law, Yvonne Cornell of Buffalo, NY; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his sister, Barbara (Art) Derenda.
