Obituary of David A. Spruill

David Spruill GENEVA - David Spruill, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Sun. Feb. 7, 2016, at Strong Memorial Hospital with his family and friends by his side. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sun. (Feb. 14), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Mon. (Feb. 15), at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to the Open Door Mission of Rochester, P.O. Box 14236, Rochester, NY 14608. David was born on Aug. 30, 1951 in Geneva and was the son of the late Leon and Marian (Mesmer) Spruill. He was a member of the 1970 graduating class of Geneva High School. David worked for ITT Goulds Pumps, in the ANSI Division as a customer service representative, retiring after 42 years. He was highly revered by his colleagues for his dedication in expediting pumps to meet customer needs. David was recognized with various awards for his exceptional reputation with his customers, who encompassed all of North America. He volunteered on the Geneva Little League Board of Directors and served as the equipment manager. In his early years, David enjoyed bowling, hunting and golfing; including being a member of the Thurs. night Twi-Lite League at Big Oak Golf Course. Most recently he enjoyed camping, playing cards and his frequent trips to the casino. Most importantly, David reveled in his dedication to the love of his life, Mickey. David is survived by his loving wife, Michaela "Mickey" (Phoenix) Spruill of Geneva; daughter, Meghan C. (Ed Miller) Spruill of Bloomfield; son, Brian D. (Jessica) Spruill of Canandaigua and his grandchildren, Gabriella "Gabby" Spruill, Brian J. Spruill, Daniel P. Spruill and Paul A. Spruill; brothers, Leon (Kathy) Spruill of Waterloo, Larry (Denise) Spruill of Geneva and Jeffrey (Pat) Spruill of Clyde; sisters-in-law; Deborah (Marty) Thibault of Stanley and Elizabeth (Michael) Sculli of Geneva; nephews and nieces Mark, Mike, Tommy Dunaway and Samantha Spruill, Adrienne and Keith (Corinne)Spruill, Ashley Smallwood, Joshua (Jessika & Jaydyn), Zachary (Tessa) and Brianna (Jimmy) Thibault, Mike, Jr., Jacqueline and Tiffany Sculli; several great-nieces and nephews and close friends; Tom (MaryAnn) Cook, Leo (Lori) Manino and John (Ursula) Beniamino and his very special friend MaryJo Thibault. David was predeceased by his son, Aaron C. Spruill in 2010; father and mother-in-law, Jack and Eunice Phoenix and niece, Kelly Spruill.
