Sally A. Driscoll GENEVA – Sally A. Driscoll, 75, passed peacefully on December 23rd surrounded by her loving family. All are invited to attend a funeral mass celebrated at 10:00 AM on January 7, 2017 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 48 Pulteney Street, Geneva, NY. We hope everyone will join us in a celebration of life luncheon immediately following. Sally was born on August 17, 1941 at Genesee Hospital in Rochester, NY to the late Richard W. and Dorothy I. Swingly. Sally, William, and Suzanne (triplets), very rare at the time, were featured in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. She graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School, Webster Central High School, where she was an all-Monroe county field hockey player, and Nazareth College. Sally worked for several years as a Quality Control Technician at RT French Company in Rochester. After relocating to Geneva, she dedicated her time to raising her young children. Later, Sally returned to work as a Special Education Teacher's Aide at United Cerebral Palsy Happiness House in Geneva where she touched the lives of many children. Sally served the Geneva community in many ways; member of the Geneva Family YMCA Board of Directors, Geneva Center of Concern volunteer, Cub Scout Den Mother, and a youth kickball coach whose motto was "Kick the ball and run like hell". Sally's love of sports continued throughout her life. In addition to field hockey, her talents included volleyball, bowling, softball, racquetball, and her favorite, tennis. She was known as a fierce competitor on the racquetball court, routinely defeating both male and female opponents. Sally, and her husband William, could often be found on the tennis courts in Geneva playing both singles and doubles. They were well known, respected, and helped grow the Geneva tennis community. She also enjoyed collecting and restoring antique furniture. Sally was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, as well as a dear friend to so many through her love, generosity, and time. Anyone who received a card from Sally will remember her personal touch. Sally is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Driscoll, of Geneva; children William (Lorie) Driscoll III, of Geneva; Mary (Russell) Jurenka, of Ames, IA; Patricia (Michael) Driscoll Uhlarik, of Amesbury, MA; Molly (Robert) Bracken, of Niskayuna, NY; grandchildren Kelley, Christine, and William IV Driscoll, Alexander, Benjamin, Kathryn, and Patrick Jurenka, Benjamin, Caroline, and Sophia Uhlarik, and Erin and Shane Bracken; her siblings, who referred to her as 'Rosie', Richard (Nancy) Swingly, of Webster, NY, Suzanne (Herb Klem) Swingly of Geneva, William (Patricia) Swingly of Geneva, Garry (Penny) Swingly of Webster, as well as several cousins including Brian Byrnes, of Chicago, as well as many nieces, and nephews. Sally will be missed by all who knew her. She appreciated and was humbled by all the visits, cards, calls, and prayers she received. Her family would also like to thank her health care providers. Contributions may be directed to a charitable organization of one's choice in Sally's name.
