Obituary of Emily E. Morwood

Emily E. Morwood GENEVA- Emily E. Morwood, 91, passed away peacefully on Sun. (Feb. 5, 2017), at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Wed. (Feb. 8), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Trisagion Prayers will be at 5:45 p.m. in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thurs. (Feb. 9), in St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, with the V. Rev. Fr. Gregory Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Little Church Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church for the St. Ignatius Campership Fund, 98 Genesee St. Geneva, NY 14456. Emily was born on Jan. 21, 1926 in South Glens Falls and was a daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Monsour) Khoury. She married the love of her life in 1946 and lived in South Glens Falls until 1966 when the family moved to Ft. Worth, TX, In 1996, she and George moved to Hall, NY. Emily loved her role as a homemaker,-- cooking,baking and trying out new recipes. Emily enjoyed making quilts for family and Church friends. Her favorite pastime, however, would be dancing. As soon as the drumbeat began, you would find her on the dabke dance floor. Fun-loving and family-loving, Emily cherished the time she spent with both her extended family and church family. Emily was a devoted member of St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, a member of the Antiochian Women Organization, the Order of St. Ignatius, the Chancel Guild of St. Michael's, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Warrensburg, NY Chapter and the Gourmet Club in TX. She is survived by her son, George Michael (Ann) Morwood of Dallas, TX; daughters, Linda (David) Patrick of Geneva and Kathryn ("John" Yongyut) Sianan of Arlington, TX; beloved sister, Helen Khoury of Saratoga Springs; grandchildren, David Michael (Rebecca) Patrick, Gregory (Veronica Quiroga) Patrick, Michael Sianan, Marcus Sianan, Rhett (Erica) Miller, Ross (Kara) Miller and Christi (Mark) Dammert; great-grandchildren, Ella Miller, Caleb Miller, Presley Miller, Maxwell Miller, Soleil Miller, Celeste Dammert, Danny George Dammert, Arie Patrick and Elias Patrick; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and the many children and grandchildren of the heart who called her "Tita." Emily was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, George Michael Abraham Morwood; brothers, John Corey, Michael Khoury, Nicholas Khoury, Abraham Khoury, George Khoury and Jabra Khoury; sisters, Mary Archimbeault, Anna Jacobs, Martha Abraham, Zina Khoury and Sarah DelSignore. The family would like to express appreciation to her very special caregivers and to Dr. Arthur Equinozzi for the excellent care provided.
