Obituary of Paul Tavano

Paul Leo Tavano GENEVA- Paul Leo Tavano, 89, passed away on Fri. (Oct. 6, 2017), at Pathway Home, surrounded by his loving family. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thurs. (Oct. 12), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. The American Legion will meet at the funeral home at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Fri. (Oct. 13), in St. Francis De Sales Church. Military honors will follow in the church. Contributions may be directed to Pathway Home, P.O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, NY 13148 in Paul's memory. Paul was born on Aug. 17, 1928 in Newark and was a son of the late Dominic and Anna (Chinelli) Tavano. He served his country in the United States Army. Paul worked at the Seneca Army Depot and retired from the U.S. Army Readiness Group of Seneca. He later became a bus driver for the South Seneca School District. Paul was a member of Geneva American Legion, South Seneca VFW and the South Seneca Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing, all hobbies that provided for his family. Paul is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joanne (Taylor) Tavano of Geneva; children, Suzanne (Marshall) McFarland of Palmyra, NY, Mark (Staci) Tavano of Waterloo, and Christopher (Melissa) Tavano of Geneva; sister Marie Laquitara of Geneva; brothers-in-law Arthur (Marcia) Taylor of Interlaken, James Taylor of Interlaken, and Robert (Judith) Taylor of Interlaken; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Tavano of Clyde and Patricia Tavano of MI; grandchildren, Kari (Aaron Earl) Gardner, Shawn (Sarah) Gardner, Joshua (Madeleine Roeland) Tavano, Kylie Tavano and Alex Tavano, Paul Tavano, Luke Tavano and Natalie Tavano; great-grandchildren, Connor Earl, Eden Earl and Liberty Gardner. He was predeceased by his son, Paul Thomas Tavano; siblings, Ralph Tavano, Catherine Mulgrew, Nicholas Tavano, Donald Tavano and Esther Noody; nephew, Ralph Tavano II.
