Rebecca
Far too early, an important family member left us. Far too early, she leaves a space in our souls. A daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, cousin, Rebecca's life force remains in memories, smiles, tears and in the living, breathing earth on which she loved walking.
Her love of words, reading and language were obvious. She read Dostoevsky novels in her early teens and mastered French on her own. Becca's unique, creative and sometimes dark sense of humor, she shared most with her own generation. Her expression of love was baked into special cakes for her family.
She humbly didn't see how enchanting her luxurious red hair and sweet face were. While she'd likely disagree, not see herself in, and even, not welcome the description, in retrospect, in reality, she was truly a lovely innocent.
This last year, living in Buffalo with her Dad, she'd found new hope. She was energized. Rebecca will be alive in each of us. We have much to learn from her.
