Barney mentored me and tutored me in mechanics. Helping me with changing my own transmission and teaching me how to rebuild GM starters and alternators. As a 30 something female he saw something in me that apparently told him I was intelligent enough to learn these things and do them for myself. The one thing however, that he lost his patience with me in, was my inability to keep clean while I was working on my cars. He would always rebuke me for getting all greasy whenever I was working on something. He was like a father to me back in the day. After I moved to Rochester about 20 yrs ago, I missed seeing him.
I am so sorry for your loss. He was a very great and generous soul. He was a devoted care giver to his wife and he had a great heart.
