Millie was born September 24, 1922 in Geneva, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Tiri) Principio. Millie attended St. Francis Parochial School and Geneva High School. Millie and her husband Joe worked very hard to make their lovely home on North Brook St. She was employed at Shuron Optical during WWII and later worked at Forge Cutlery. In 1966 she gained employment at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in the Cleaning Department and happily remained there for 32 years. She loved her co-workers and the Hobart boys at each of the dormitories she cleaned. She would often come home with humorous stories about "the boys". Millie was honored to be the first recipient of the Raymond Sidney and Alice Dahl Jackson Award presented by President Carroll Brewster, Hobart and William Smith College, for her work being devoted to the students and making their world a better and more comfortable place.
Millie loved gardening, planting trees, cooking for her family- especially making her famous meatballs and fried dough, attending Bruce Springsteen and country music concerts, and spoiling her grandchildren. She walked everywhere in Geneva and although she never learned to drive a car, she had a moped that she loved to zip around town in during the 70's and 80's, even making the occasional trip to Canandaigua to visit her sister, Mary. She was a lifelong Geneva resident who truly loved her city, neighborhood, Seneca Lake, friends, and most of all her family. She was the most giving person, and devoted herself to being a caregiver to her husband, parents, brothers and sisters, children, and grandchildren.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Joanne DiTulio Wisnieski; son, Joseph DiTulio (Karen); granddaughters Kelly Hall (Ray), Leigh Ciaccio (Chris), Kate Meads (Isaiah), Anna Smith (Tyler), and # 1 Grandson Nicholas (Liz) Wisnieski; Great grandchildren – Natalie Hall, Taylor Hall, Benjamin Hall and Brooke Ciaccio; nieces Audrey Arlington, Pauline Cemoni, Cynthia Covert; nephews Nelson Principio, Chuck Principio, David Principio, Stephen Roat, Gerald Roat, Kevin Roat; and cousins Yolanda Nicoletti, William Principio, and Marco Principio.
Millie was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph DiTulio in 1973; and siblings, Albert Principio, Vrony Principio, Fred Principio, Lucy Principio, and Mary Roat.
