Obituary of Barbara J. Leo

Barbara J. (Abright) Leo GENEVA- Barbara J. (Abright) Leo, 76, passed away peacefully on Sat. (June 22, 2013), at home, with her loving family by her side. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Thurs. (June 27), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society 364 Park Canandaigua, NY 14424 or Ontario -Yates Hospice 756 Pre-Emption Rd. Geneva, NY 14456. Barbara was born on July 13, 1936 in Geneva and was a daughter of the late Henry Augustine, Sr. and Frances (DiSanto) Augustine. She worked for many years in various departments in Geneva City Hall, ultimately, retiring from code enforcement. Barbara attended the Freeman Business School and was a former member of the Geneva Women's Club. In her earlier years she enjoyed golfing, and more recently, loved going on vacations with her husband, Roger. Barbara also enjoyed classical music, the beauty of flowers, being an avid reader and time spent with her family. She was a caregiver to many and will always be admired for her integrity, compassion and genuine ability to make people smile. She always saw the best in people. Barbara would say, "Do things while you can, life's too short. Don't let life pass you by." She took pride in every aspect of raising her grandson, Bryn, and spending time with her mother, Frances. She is survived by her mother, Frances (DiSanto) Augustine of Geneva; husband, Roger Leo of Geneva; grandson, Bryn Gebert-Fryer; daughter, Beverly (Sam Krofssik) Fryer of Geneva; brothers, Henry "Hank" Augustine, Jr. of Geneva and Patrick (Meg) Augustine of Long Island; sister, Marie Holbrooks of Alabama; beloved cat, Forangie and several aunts, nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Barbara was predeceased by her son, William H. Gebert-Fryer in 2009.
