Steph was a kind and giving person, and a very good woman to Brent's Dad Ray ('Pa'). She was always kind to us, and we have wonderful memories of us all together! May your family's cherished and treasured memories of her and you all together remain in your minds & hearts always, for then our loved ones live on. May knowing she's in a wonderful place, surrounded by SO much beauty & love help your hearts too. RIP, sweet 'Steffi' (as Pa called her). All our love. Brent & Cindy Cook

It is impossible for me to think of West Street School without recalling Stephanie. As principal I knew that as long as she was on duty in the lunch room I had little to worry about. Stephanie knew how to run the lunch room and she knew so much more about the children than many of the experts. If I had a question about a student Stephanie could supply an answer. Some may have felt Stephanie was a little too stern and could have smiled a little more but they had not spent enough time understanding the real situation. Those of us who knew understood that within her business-like exterior was a heart of gold. If a child needed anything Stephanie was there to provide it. Whether it was a bad day and a kid needed some TLC, perhaps milk spilled all over their sandwich or a little one was the only child without a snack, Stephanie knew it and would swoop in to save the day. "Caring" Stephanie was the person I knew and I totally trusted her to do the right thing while making sure that all ran smoothly on the lunch room floor.
I was saddened to learn of Stephanie's passing. I sincerely hope her years since retirement were happy ones and that she did not suffer near the end. I am left with fond memories of Stephanie and know she will be missed by all. Sincerely, Joe DeMeis
