GENEVA- Marlene P. Anastasi, 86, passed away peacefully on Tues. (Jan. 19, 2021), at home. Marlene was born on Jan. 31, 1934, in Sodus, NY and was a daughter of the late Merton and Gladys (Rand) Perce. She grew up in Sodus Point and graduated from Sodus High School in 1951. Marlene moved to Geneva after graduation to work at New York Telephone Company, where she met her future husband, Tony, who worked across the street at the Seneca Diner. She was instrumental in helping Tony establish his businesses, A & C Trucking and Anastasi’s Restaurant. In addition, Marlene worked for the Ontario County ARC and also at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She retired at the age of 82. Marlene was a fun loving mother and grandmother (Nonnie). She was very active in her children and grandchildren’s lives, and attended all sporting events, school events and extra-curricular activities. She loved spending time with her family, whom she was very proud of. Marlene was an avid bowler, golfer and an excellent Euchre player. Marlene was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Springmeier of Geneva, Mary Lou (David) Eddy of Norwich and Lori (Richard) Nardone of Geneva; sister, Karen (Leon) Austin of Rose; sisters-in-law, Arline Perce of Wolcott, Raquel Perce of Las Vegas, NV and Phyllis Anastasi of Geneva ; brothers-in-law, Patrick Anastasi of Fla and Frank (Ellen) Anastasi of Fla.; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Olga) Springmeier of Geneva, Erica (Michael Perrone) Eddy of Victor, Christopher (MaryFrances) Eddy of Norwich and Dr. Elisha Eddy of Victor, Adam, Patrick and Brian Nardone of Geneva; great-grandchildren, Alexander Jeffrey “A.J.” Springmeier and Warren David Eddy; several nieces, nephews and close friends. Marlene was predeceased by her husband, Anthony “Tony” J. Anastasi, Jr. in 2017; brothers, James Perce and Dale Perce; sister, Eleanor Peeso. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately, at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life, followed by a burial in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Contributions may be directed to Our Lady of Peace Parish, 130 Exchange St. Geneva, NY 14456, or the charity of one’s choice.
