Obituary of Dominica D. Mariano

Dominica 'Minnie' D. Mariano WATERLOO/GENEVA- Dominica 'Minnie' D. Mariano, 99, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Wed. (July 17, 2013), at the Geneva Living Center South. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sun. (July 21), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Mon. (July 22), at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Minnie was born on March 15, 1914, in Geneva and was a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (Pacella) Calabrese. Early on, Minnie was employed at Geneva Forge and Shuron Optical. Then, her and her husband Rocco owned and operated the 5&20 Motel for 30 years, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed baking and cooking Italian food. Minnie was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waterloo. She is survived by her sons, Robert A. (Barbara) Mariano of Arizona and James G. (Pat) Mariano of Waterloo; daughter, Deborah (David) Mariano Dineen of Cayuga; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Minnie was predeceased by her husband, Rocco Mariano and several brothers and sisters.
