GENEVA- Charles "Chuck" F. Smith, Sr., 90, passed away peacefully on Tues. (Aug. 3, 2021), at the Elm Manor Nursing Home in Canandaigua. In honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at a later date, in Oaklawn Cemetery, with full military honors. Contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620. Chuck was born on July 3, 1931, in Waterloo and was a son of the late Walter C. and Mary (Kelly) Smith. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. Chuck was a life member of the VFW Post 2670, serving as commander from 1979-80, a member of the American Legion Post 396, the Hydrant Hose Co. and a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his daughter, Sally (Alan) Myers of Williamsburg, VA; brother, Kenneth (Brenda) Smith of Rochester; daughter-in-law, Patti Manino of Geneva; son-in-law, Stephen Valentino of Geneva; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Chuck was predeceased by his wife Marilou D'Amico Smith; sons, Charles F. Smith, Jr., Chet Smith and daughter Kelly Valentino.
