Obituary of Roberto Navarro Cruz

ROCHESTER- Roberto Navarro Cruz, 58, passed away on Sun. (Jan. 9, 2022), at home. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wed. (Jan. 19), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva, NY. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choice. Roberto was born on Oct. 11, 1963, in Humacao, PR and was a son of the late Julio Navarro and Juana Cruz. He was the founder and lead singer of his music band, "Grupo Calle Uno", which was a Latin music band that played salsa, merengue and bachata. Everywhere he went he was proud to call himself "Puertorriqueño, 100% Borricua!!!. His true passion was his music and his "Negroides" poems. Roberto earned the nickname, "Juan Boria", because he enjoyed reciting Spanish poems. Roberto was a selfless and loyal friend who would always try to meet everyone in the middle. He brought love and music to this world and that is how he will be remembered. He was married to his one and only wife, Zoraida Natal, a blessed union of 7 years; children, Elena Navarro of Geneva and Roberto Navarro-Natal of Geneva; grandchild, Synjanna Marie Armstrong-Navarro; siblings, Victoria Navarro, Carmen Alicia Navarro, Aida Navarro, Maria Ester Navarro, Julio Navarro, Carmen Navarro, Jose Luis Navarro, Petra Navarro, Ana Wilda Navarro, Rafael Navarro, Blanca Navarro and Charlie Navarro; 43 nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roberto was predeceased by his sister, Luz Tereza Navarro. That special smile, That caring heart That warm embrace You always gave us. May the road Rise to meet you.
