Obituary of Helen F. Garlick

GENEVA - Helen F. Garlick, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday (April 4, 2022) at home, with her family by her side.Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday (April 7) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. The Sons of Italy will meet for prayers at 6:45 p.m.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday (April 8) at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will be private in Glenwood Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to Ontario County ARC. Helen was born on November 23, 1933 in Geneva, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Morabito) Cosentino. Helen, her Husband and children owned and operated a cash crop farm and Garlick's Mini Mart in MacDougall. She worked as a Varick Town Clerk, Geneva Tax Collector, Election poll worker, Romulus Central School in the cafeteria, Fay's, Keys and Dorio Drug Stores. Helen belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Varick Fire Dept., Ladies Auxiliary of the Sons of Italy, American Red Cross and the Geneva Democratic Committee. She volunteered at the Smith Opera House and delivered Meals on Wheels. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She was an avid Syracuse Orange and New York Yankee fan. She loved to be in the presence of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (John) Lorenzetti; sons, James Jr., Michael (Kathy), Stephen (Janet) and Thomas Garlick; grandchildren, Joshua (Sarah) Griffin, Angela Reilly, Marissa (Alex) Baskervill, Adam (Keedel) Garlick, Morgan (Ryan) Amberg, Ryan (Anna) McCormack, Hannah (Patrick) Dupuy, Kyle (Meghan) McCormack and Matthew (Christine) Garlick; great-grandchildren, Liam and Olivia Reilly, Elle Baskervill and Maeve McCormack; several nieces and nephews; brother, Tony Cosentino; sisters-in-law, Betty Glanville and Mary Lou Cosentino. Helen was predeceased by her husband, James G. Garlick, Sr.; brothers, Joseph Cosentino and Salvatore "Sam" (Delores) Cosentino; brothers-in-law, John (Cae) Garlick and Robert Glanville; sister-in-law, Cherie (George) Pemberton. The family would like to thank her Physicians, Dr. Joseph Lorenzetti, Dr. Thomas Curran and Dr. Joseph Perillo. Her personal caregivers, Sara Smaldone, Phyllis Tillman and Carla Lorenzetti and her favorite hairdresser, Penny Byer.
