Obituary of Marta Lopez-Guallpa

Marta R. Lopez-Guallpa WATERLOO- Marta Lopez-Guallpa, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Strong Memorial Hospital. Friends may call from 4 pm to 6 pm on Thursday, April 21, at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC. Her prayer service will follow at 6 pm at the funeral home. Marta was born on September 28, 1956 in Villalba, Puerto Rico and was the daughter of the late Maximina Pagan and Eliseo Lopez. She received her Master’s degree from Long Island University. Marta was an amazing cook. She loved to listen to music, watch movies, and read. Marta would always check in on people to make sure that they were well. Marta was known as the neighborhood mother to friends, family and faux. She is survived by her husband Raul Guallpa of Waterloo; daughters Sandra (Moses Narvaez) Torres of Bklyn, NY, Arreliz (Andrew) Kendall of Arl., TX, Claribel (Richard Santiago) Crespo of Bayonne NJ, and Kaylie Colon of Waterloo; son Miguel Laboy Rodriguez of Waterloo; sisters Dominga Cruz of Dundee, Juanita Lopez, Virgen Lopez, Rosie Lopez, Hadie Lopez, Maria Lopez, Evelyn Lopez, and Olga Lopez all of Puerto Rico; brothers Eliseo Lopez of Romulus and Pablo Lopez of Puerto Rico; grandchildren Tatyana, Xena, Andrew, Alyson and Aneesa; great-grandchild Genesis; nieces Lourdes and Nancy and many more nieces; nephews Danny, Carlos, and Israel, Jr. and many more nephews; many great nieces and nephews. Marta is predeceased by her grandson John Anthony Marrero and brother Braulio Pagan-Lopez who passed away April 9, 2022.
