GENEVA- Sahar Iutchin, 60, passed away peacefully on Wed. (May 25, 2022), at Newark Wayne Hospital. In honoring her wishes, the services will be private. Sahar was a truly amazing woman with a huge heart and beautiful soul. She was the most sweet, kind, caring, strong, and humble person who always had a smile on her face and a positive outlook on life. Everyone that met her loved her and anyone in her presence felt cared for and loved. Her family meant the world to her, she was an incredible mother and wife. Sahar was born on Jan. 8, 1962, in Tartus and grew up in Maten al-Sahel, a small Christian village off the Mediterranean coast of Syria. She came to the United States in 1980 where she met her husband in Geneva. They were married almost 38 years until he passed. She was a great cook and enjoyed feeding and taking care of everyone making sure they ate. She was a very hard worker and was employed as a supervisor at Zotos International. Sahar was a member of St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, in Geneva. She is survived by her daughter, Valentina Iutchin of Rochester; son, Timotei Iutchin of Geneva; 1 sister, 6 brothers, and several nieces and nephews all of Maten al-Sahel. Sahar was predeceased by her husband, Valentin Iutchin, her father, Isa Baroody, her mother, Bedra (Wassouf) Baroody, mother-in-law, Darinca Iutchin and father-in-law, Timotei Iutchin.
