Kathleen A. Legott
GENEVA- Kathleen A. Legott, 69, passed away on Mon. (Aug. 26, 2013), at Geneva General Hospital. There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services will begin with prayers at 10:30 a.m. Thurs. (Aug. 29), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
Kathleen was born on Sept. 5, 1943, in Schenectady, NY, and was a daughter of the late James and Eileen (McGarry) Legott. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Mt. St. Vincent College and studied for her Master's Degree at Rutgers and Syracuse University. Kathleen taught freshman English courses at Syracuse University. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and early in life she developed an interest in photography, becoming the photo editor of the school yearbook. Kathleen was a Chaucer Scholar and wrote a book interpreting Chaucer's 'Canterbury Tales'.
She is survived by her siblings, Patricia Knifley of Geneva, Jeanne Legott of Geneva, James Legott, Jr. of Seneca Falls, William 'Bill' (Lori) Legott of Geneva and Barbara (Jack) Shaughnessy of Hingham, MA; nieces and nephews, Carmen 'Scott' (Tyna Borelli) Reale and John (Lorraine) Knifley, Liz Comatis, Abbey (Bruce) Ferguson, Alexandria (Dan) Palermo, Sarah Legott and Eric Legott, Laura (Chris) Lawrence, Melissa (Ben) Hux and Kerry (Mike) O'Connor; special great- nieces and nephew, Nick, Alyssa and Emily Comatis and numerous other great- nieces and nephews; special friend, Nancy Russell.
