Elizabeth Sharman
Geneva - Elizabeth Sharman, 88, passed away surrounded by family on Friday August 4th. A private funeral was held to honor her final wishes, followed by burial at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Elizabeth is survived by five children: Sue (Frank) Coviello of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Norm (Carol) of Waterloo; Dave (Maureen) of Geneva; Jeff (Mary) of Fairport; and Chris (Alyson) of Corning. She has fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Graham "Papper" Sharman, son Alan Sharman, and great grand daughter Ava Sharman.
Elizabeth was born one of two children in post depression Quebec. This humble background shaped her character. She placed high value on the relationships in her life over material concerns. Elizabeth was known for her generous spirit and served many years as a home health aid. After raising her family, and helping Graham to run Big Oak Golf Course, she returned to school for LPN training. Through her work, she forged many life long friendships. Her caring and considerate nature will be greatly missed by the many people that she touched in her life.
Elizabeth was an avid skier well into her 60s. She took up sailboarding in the late 1980s. One of her favorite activities was taking long walks in the woods or in the many parks in our area. Elizabeth loved reading and music. When not working, volunteering, or visiting with friends, she would drive to explore the back roads of our region. The Eagles were always on the car stereo and the windows were usually down. She appreciated the beautiful landscapes of the Finger Lakes and was proud to call this area her home.
The Sharman family thanks the many care givers and Guardian Angels Home Health Care of Geneva, which allowed her to live independently over the last several years.
