i attended fr. remmel's church from third grade to my sophomore year in college. i moved to san francisco then and joined my husband's syrian orthodox church. i remember saturdays at the remmel's parish house. mrs. remmel would invite me for tea. i think it was fr. remmel's mother who attended with alison lynn and mrs. remmel. francis would wander in and out. the remmel women all did beautiful needlework and they would be knitting, crocheting, tatting, etc. while we had our tea. it was so civilized and elegant. lynn always made me laugh. she was so much like her dad. stalwart, dependable, fun. my former classmate geneva high, dr. george abraham, told me that he and lynn had their first kiss in the church decades ago!!! may lynn rest in peace. what an amazing family they were...they were a refuge in the storm of my family. god bless them all.

I had Lynn as a Biology teacher at Geneva High School. As much as I didn't like biology, I enjoyed the class because Lynn made every day an adventure. She was a wonderful teacher and mentor. I loved her sense of humor. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Broderick, Remmel and Gutenmann family, I am so extremely saddened by your loss.
Lyn touched the lives of so many people, people that will forever be indebted to her for making their lives more joyous.
I can only imagine the pain you all feel by losing such a loving and passionate sole, I wish you strength and courage for the dim days ahead.
Lyn, I will always remember you as a loving, caring, selfless and thoughtful person, that my only regret of having knowing, is the regret of knowing you for too short of a time.
Thank you for Turtle-Tarts, LLLNRA and all the memories therein.
I love you Lyn and I will forever hold you in my heart.
